“Eye Can’t See A Problem” – Webinar & Interactive Workshop
Friday 27th September 2024
Time: 11:00 – 12:30

In this training, delegates will go on a journey of provocations around our understandings of unconscious bias, and how that is created as a result of living in a racist, classist, ableist, and sexist society, with regard to constructed notions of difference. It aims to unpack individual and collective belief systems and those beyond the usual dogma. What goes without saying and who’s voices are heard in the workplace?

In this training, delegates will go on a journey of provocations around our understandings of unconscious bias, and how that is created as a result of living in a racist, classist, ableist, and sexist society, with regard to constructed notions of difference. It aims to unpack individual and collective belief systems, looking at how we make sense of categories of difference; race, gender, sexuality, class, dis(ability) and those beyond the usual dogma. What goes without saying and who’s voices are heard in the workplace? Who gets to speak and who’s are excluded? In this visual audience participatory event, you are invited to ruminate on what we think we know and the pre-conceptions we bring to the table. This workshop is designed to:
  • Question how we see
  • Participants will be introduced to the way behaviour that is taken for granted often impacts on how we identify self and other.
  • What is the ‘pre-image’ in the formation of stereotypes, pre-conceptions and unconscious biases.
  • Look at the set-up/up-set – understanding the impact of constructive alignment
  • Attendees will use “when you are the only one in the room”, as a strategy of inclusion
  • Team building activity
