Socio-Economic Status & The Elephant in the Room
Webinar & Interactive Workshop
Wednesday 25th September
Time: 15:00 – 16:30
How do you define and grade socio-economic status, especially when the markers of the three traditional types of class have changed? What about the question of social mobility? Why has socio-economic status, not been actioned into the current Equality Act 2010 as a protected characteristic, when so much of workplace culture is predicated on class differences?
Learn about distinguishing between privilege and the topic of meritocracy. How does accumulative advantage benefit some and delimits others. How can we unpack workplace class dynamics and what does it mean to address workplace culture, on the grounds of socio-economic status? Learn about what are the markers that we must look for and how do these class inequalities play out.
"Eye Can't See a Problem"
Webinar & Interactive Workshop
Friday 27th September
Time: 11:00 – 12:30
In this training, delegates will go on a journey of provocations around our understandings of unconscious bias, and how that is created as a result of living in a racist, classist, ableist, and sexist society, with regard to constructed notions of difference. It aims to unpack individual and collective belief systems and those beyond the usual dogma. What goes without saying and who’s voices are heard in the workplace?
Bystander Training
Webinar & Interactive Workshop
Monday 30th September
Time: 15:30 – 17:00
When people think of bystander training within the workplace, it’s typically within the context of bullying and harassment. Within the context of harassment, which spans a broad range of discriminatory practices, such as racial, ableist, religious, and class discrimination for instance, there is a large emphasis on sexual harassment. How do you become an active bystander and step into challenge unwanted or inappropriate behaviours of a sexual/sexist nature?
This session will look at what it means to be a bystander in challenging situations and give you the tools and the confidence to challenge, call out, and report inappropriate behaviours in the workplace.
