This training session looks at the dynamic nature of resilience, both from a well-being perspective and the other, within the lens of flourishing in an often-demanding, workplace environment. Throughout history there have been numerous famous figures who have spoken about scheduling a nap into their day, to help increase their productivity and creativity. It has also been proven that among emergency department physicians and nurses who go on long 12-hour shifts, having a power nap is essential to balancing the demands of the job. Whilst this workshop will look at the strategies for coping with demanding workloads, it will also look at the ability to bounce back, and unpack the tenets of individual resilience and organisational resilience? What does it take to be a resilient professional, yet still maintain positive levels of well-being? How can you prevent burnout and what does self-care and good support look like?
